Kenneth Lonergan’s ‘This Is Our Youth’ Kicks Off 2018!

(Nicole Calloway, Nicholas Ciulla and Charlie Battaglia in THIS IS OUR YOUTH)
We’re starting 2018 off with one of playwright Kenneth Lonergan’s best, the coming of age story, This Is Our Youth.
In 1982, on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the wealthy, articulate pot-smoking teenagers who were small children in the ’60s have emerged as young adults in a country that has just resoundingly rejected everything they were brought up to believe in. The very last wave of New York City’s ’60s-style Liberalism has come of age—and there’s nowhere left to go. In meticulous, hilarious, and agonizing detail, This Is Our Youth follows 48 hours of three very lost young souls in the big city at the dawn of the Reagan Era.
This Is Our Youth features Charlie Battaglia as Dennis, Nick Ciulla as Warren and Nicole Calloway as Jessica. All three are making their Modjeska Playhouse debuts. The play is directed by MPH’s co-artistic director, Joshua Stecker.
This Is Our Youth opens Friday, January 19 at 8 p.m., followed by an opening reception. There’s a discounted $20 Preview Night on Thursday, January 18 at 8 p.m.
