‘I Ought to Be In Pictures’ Opens March 24!

Modjeska Playhouse is proud to present the Neil Simon classic, I Ought to Be In Pictures!

written by Neil Simon | directed by Deb Marley

You have to dig deep in the glittering treasury of Neil Simon comedies to come up with I Ought To Be In Pictures, one of Simon’s most-overlooked gems — but a true jewel nonetheless. Meet Herb Tucker, a L.A. screenwriter currently “at liberty” (i.e. completely unemployed) who once abandoned his family in New York a lifetime ago. But his past catches up with him when his adventurous teenage daughter Libby arrives on his doorstep, convinced that he alone can help jump-start her film career. After dispensing guilt and demanding love, Libby convinces Herb to take another stab at parenting, accept his responsibilities and come to terms with his on-again/off-again relationship with girlfriend Steffy. Deb Marley directs a sparkling new production of this memorable masterwork from (literally) the world’s most successful playwright.
